We are looking for a highly skilled Chief Accountant (Location: Vecsés)
Our client is a French-owned manufacturing company operating a commercial branch in Hungary (a smaller operation with approximately 20 employees and a turnover of 2.5 million Euros).
The Chief Accountant will be solely responsible for the company's complete accounting activities. There is one finance colleague in-house who is responsible for group-level reporting tasks. The position reports to the Regional CFO, thus confident English language skills are required.
Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive operational accounting: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank statements, Travel expenses
- Preparation and submission of tax returns
- Conducting financial audits and coordinating external audits
- Setting up group quarterly consolidation package (IFRS)
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Communication with banks and relevant external stakeholders
- Cooperation with local authorities
- Perform payments cycle and credit control
- Data provision to external payroll company
- Support on yearly budgeting and target cycle
- Monthly group closing
- Usage of Baan ERP, which will soon be replaced by SAP
Requirements:
- Registered chartered accountant qualification with knowledge of Hungarian VAT rules and regulations
- Previous experience in a similar role with the ability to work independently without daily supervision
- Experience with SAP usage and/or implementation is a huge plus
- Fluency in English
- Proficiency in Excel is essential
- A flexible, hands-on approach
- Willingness to travel for business (1-2 times per year, within Europe)
